"Columnar stela with a total height of 4.1 m (13 1/2 feet) including its buried uncarved base. Note that the upper northern corner has been broken off. The western side is carved with a frontal portrait of a late Quirigua ruler named Jade Sky. The sculpted figure sands without the usual pedestal mask but holds the ruling symbol (manikin scepter) in the right hand and a small round shield in the left. The headdress is notable for its rich display of feathers that overlap the back of the monument to ground level."
